We also completed a full kitchen renovation in this Placel House home.

The living room centres on a striking stone fireplace with a wooden mantel and framed artwork above it, creating a warm focal point for the family space. Custom millwork and wainscoting add depth and character to the walls, while the refined finish palette keeps the room bright and inviting. The before and after photos show the transformation clearly: the dated original fireplace gave way to a tailored, timeless design that suits this Rockcliffe home.

The challenge was to refresh the room without losing its traditional charm. Denys listened carefully to the homeowners’ vision, then executed a clean, well-managed renovation with careful attention to detail. The result is one of the most welcoming living room renovations Ottawa families enjoy every day: a warm, inviting family space built with pride and quality.

“Paul, we want to extend our appreciation for the fantastic renovation you completed. You listened to our needs and were able to turn our vision of a warm, inviting family space into reality.

We were especially impressed with the cleanliness of the work site and your willingness to perform additional “handyman” tasks for us that made our move to this new house so much easier.

We would not hesitate to recommend you to family and friends with full confidence that your work would be completed with pride and quality.” Trish & Chris
