Denys completed a whole home renovation in Ottawa’s prestigious Sandy Hill neighbourhood. The project sits on Laurier Avenue East. It carried the award-winning transformation of Laurier House beyond the kitchen. In addition, Denys refreshed the living room, office and secondary kitchen spaces. Custom millwork and finishes complement the home’s historic character. As a result, every detail preserves the architectural heritage of this Sandy Hill home. Finally, the home offers comfortable, functional rooms for modern family living.

The design balances heritage detail with modern function. In the kitchen, shaker-style cabinetry pairs with quartz counters and a custom butler’s pantry that keeps clutter out of sight. A reconfigured layout improves traffic flow for cooking and entertaining, while layered lighting and new flooring tie the space together. The result stands as one of the finest kitchen renovations Ottawa homeowners can enjoy day after day.

The living room received a sympathetic refresh with restored trim, a refined colour palette and built-in storage that respects the room’s original proportions. The home office now offers quiet, organised space with wooden cabinetry and a dedicated work area that supports a modern work-from-home routine. The laundry room pairs white cabinetry with wainscoting panels, turning a utility space into a bright and pleasant room.

Careful planning and in-house trades kept the project on schedule while preserving the home’s character throughout. The result shows how older Ottawa homes can gain modern comfort without losing their soul.
