Award Spotlight: NKBA Finalist for Modern Kitchen Design – Eastman House
We are delighted to announce that Denys Builds Designs Renovations has been named a finalist in the 2025 NKBA Ottawa Design Excellence Awards for our work on the Eastman House. This project was recognized in the highly technical category of Modern/Contemporary Kitchen under 150 square feet.
This nomination celebrates our ability to blend high-end style with incredible efficiency, proving that a kitchen does not need to be large to be luxurious.
Maximizing Style in a Compact Footprint
For many homeowners, a kitchen renovation in Ottawa involves the challenge of working within an existing urban footprint. At the Eastman House, we had less than 150 square feet to create a high-performance culinary hub.
Our design focused on clean, modern lines and a layout that optimises every centimetre of workspace. By modernizing the flow and selecting materials that reflect light, we transformed a compact area into a bright, open-concept kitchen that feels much larger than its physical dimensions. This project is a highlight in our kitchen project gallery, showcasing our speciality in “small-space mastery.”

The awards are judged on rigorous industry standards for both aesthetics and functional design.
