Award Spotlight: NKBA Finalist for Modern Bathroom Design – Orchid House

We are thrilled to share that Denys Builds Designs Renovations was named a finalist in the 2025 NKBA Ottawa Design Excellence Awards. Our work on the Orchid House was recognized in the highly competitive category of Modern/Contemporary Bathroom under 55 square feet.

This recognition highlights our ability to deliver high-performance, beautiful results even when working within a very compact footprint.

The Challenge: Small Space, Big Style

In many bathroom renovations in Ottawa, the biggest hurdle is often a limited physical footprint. For the Orchid House, we had less than 55 square feet to create a functional, modern retreat.

As a design-build firm, we approached this project by focusing on “visual expansion”—using clean lines, smart lighting, and high-quality finishes to make the space feel open and airy without moving a single wall. This “tiny but mighty” approach is a specialty of our bathroom project portfolio, where we prove that luxury doesn’t require massive square footage.

Recognized by NKBA Ottawa

Being a finalist for an NKBA Design Excellence Award is a significant honour. The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) sets the industry standard for professionalism and creative achievement. To be recognized by our peers for our work in the Modern/Contemporary category reinforces our 40-year commitment to craftsmanship and structural artistry.

Whether it’s a master suite or a compact powder room, we bring the same level of award-winning detail to every home renovation in Ottawa we undertake.
